SCOR Foundation Video | Arnaud Fontanet, Institut Pasteur
Arnaud Fontanet, Head of the Institut Pasteur’s Emerging Diseases Epidemiology Unit and of the Mpox project, discusses the emergence of infectious diseases and thanks the Foundation for its continued support.

The SCOR Foundation has longstanding ties with the Institut Pasteur in Paris, supporting research and knowledge sharing on infectious diseases such as Covid-19 and, more recently, Mpox. The Foundation is currently funding the fifth consecutive year of the Mpox project: A One Health Study of Mpox: Human Infection, Animal Reservoir, Disease Ecology, and Diagnostic Tools.
To mark this partnership, representatives from both the Foundation and the SCOR Group were invited to visit the Institut Pasteur and discuss the project on June 24, 2025.
Welcomed by the Institut’s Arnaud Fontanet (Head of the Emerging Diseases Epidemiology Unit and leader of the Mpox project) and Antoine Gessain (Head of the Oncogenic Virus Epidemiology and Pathophysiology Unit), the visitors were given a guided tour of the insectarium by Anna-Bella Failloux (Head of the Arboviruses and Insect Vectors Unit) and of the Ultrastructural BioImaging facility.
In the video below, Arnaud Fontanet takes some time out from the visit to discuss the Institut Pasteur’s research into the emergence of infectious diseases, and thanks the SCOR Foundation for its continued support.
