Every year, the SCOR-TSE Chair “Risk Markets and Value Creation” Activity Report details the academic research activities conducted by TSE researchers.

In 2023, the SCOR Foundation for Science renewed its support to TSE for a further three-year period. As the Activity Report covers the whole of the previous year, the TSE researchers would like to pay a grateful tribute to Denis Kessler, former CEO of SCOR at the inception of the SCOR-TSE collaboration, who passed away in June 2023. Denis Kessler was not only a patron of research but an intellectual who understood the importance of academic and theoretical works.

The research conducted within the chair is diverse and multifaceted, often addressing contemporary challenges and exploring innovative solutions in risk management and decision under uncertainty. Research activities in 2023 include ten published papers, two papers due to be published in 2024, and seven working papers. Key focus areas include:

• Age- and health-related non-linear inheritance taxation
• Investment timing and technological breakthroughs
• Foundations for the precautionary principle
• Debt management and debt ceiling.

The chair also organized two major events in 2023, bringing together experts, academics, industry professionals, and students to discuss the latest advances and future directions in the field of risk management.

Finally, the report details future events to be held from autumn 2024 onwards.
