On December 12, 2023, the SCOR Foundation for Science held an online webinar called “Geopolitical and geostrategic threats, and the risk of deglobalization”. The webinar was hosted by Gilles Andréani, a recognized global expert on strategic issues and especially on European and transatlantic security. In his presentation, Gilles Andréani questioned recent developments in the international system, as well as the most likely crisis scenarios.
Gilles Andréani
Gilles Andréani is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies and a former student of France’s Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA). He is a magistrate at the Cour des Comptes (the supreme body for auditing the use of public funds in France), where he was until recently a head of chamber, and where he has just submitted a report on public risk management. After holding key responsibilities at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he led the Analysis and Forecast Center (CAP), Gilles Andréani was an advisor to several French governments, and personal advisor to former Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin. He was also Research Director at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. He teaches International Relations and State History at Paris Panthéon-Assas University and at the Paris Institute of Political Studies.
