On July 10, 2024, the SCOR Foundation for Science hosted a webinar titled “Pandemic risk: reassessment after COVID-19”, delivered by Professor Arnaud Fontanet. An expert in the epidemiology of infectious and tropical diseases, Professor Fontanet was the first holder of the "Public health" Chair at the Collège de France (2018-2019) and is also a Professor at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers. He was a member of the scientific council set up by Emmanuel Macron to assist the French government in managing the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Internationally recognized, Professor Fontanet is one of the academic figures best placed to learn lessons from recent epidemics and to clarify trends in both the global risk of pandemics and the optimal interventions, pharmaceutical (vaccines etc.) and non-pharmaceutical, to prevent and treat this risk.

Born March 14, 1961 in Paris, Arnaud Fontanet is an internationally well-known epidemiologist and researcher at the Institut Pasteur. He is professor at the College de France and at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. He is member of the scientific council for the management of the Covid-19 pandemic in France.
