Within the framework of the “Risk Markets and Value Creation” Chair supported by SCOR Foundation for Science, a virtual workshop dedicated to Long Term Care and Aging was organised on January 28, 2022 by the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and the Foundation. Academics, SCOR experts and clients from all over the world were invited. The workshop was successful and well-attended.
It covered six areas of research in Long Term Care and Aging:
- Family bargaining and the gender gap in informal care
- Long-term care choice in equilibrium: Implications for public policies
- Nursing homes and mortality in Europe: uncertain causality
- Gender wage and longevity gaps and the design of retirement systems
- The economics of long-term care: an overview of recent research
- Optimal demand for medical and long-term care
