World Tsunami Awareness Day | LastQuake App
With help from the SCOR Foundation, LastQuake provides emergency earthquake and tsunami information in real time
The United Nations declared November 5th World Tsunami Day in 2015.
Because they are mostly triggered by earthquakes, tsunamis are a feature of the earthquake app "LastQuake", which enables people to access emergency information in real time.
The SCOR Foundation for Science helped to finance a new version of LastQuake, first rolled out in September 2023, as part of its Social Media, Citizen Seismology and Reducing Earthquake Risk project, which ran from 2020 to 2023.
